Southwest Florida Urban Search and Rescue Florida Task Force 6

Approximately 80 firefighters, paramedics, and specialists from the South Trail Fire & Rescue District, and the Iona McGregor, San Carlos Park, Estero, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers Beach, and North Collier fire districts, as well as the Lee County Division of Public Safety comprise the Southwest Florida Urban Search and Rescue (SWF USAR) team. Designated as Task Force 6 by the State of Florida, SWF USAR FL-TF6 provides specialized rescue response locally, regionally, and within the state. FL-TF6 personnel are trained and equipped to respond to incidents involving confined space rescue, low to high angle rope rescue, structural collapse rescue, trench rescue, vehicle machinery rescue, large animal rescue and flood/swift water rescue.
